We are delighted to announce that Robert Baker, Ex Mercer Senior Partner and International Diversity and Inclusion Lead, is joining our Board as a Non-Executive Director.
Robert shares his thoughts:
“I am delighted to be joining the Board. Spktral has a clear purpose and mission which I share: to support organisations in driving equality, diversity and inclusion in their workforce – this has never mattered more than now! We make a difference by empowering leaders with the quantitative and qualitative diversity data that they need in order to drive meaningful change.
Employees are the main asset of most organisations, yet too few executive teams collect the necessary data to ensure they are managing their people effectively. The McKinsey Wins 2020 report clearly shows that companies with diverse teams, if managed well, perform better. Boards need to take note because the investment community is now increasingly focused and engaged on the inclusion agenda. C-Suite executives everywhere need to step up and at, a minimum, understand their data and explain. Brands are at stake and ‘diversity talk’ is no longer good enough. Organisations need to take action to ensure that all of their employees, whatever their gender, ethnicity, age etc can thrive and perform to their fullest potential.
There is a real need for Spktral’s support: our analysis shows that a significant number of organisations are not fully compliant with gender pay reporting legislation, even after three years. Our worry is that organisations do not have the specialist skills to carry out this work internally; this will become especially apparent when the more complex ethnicity pay gap reporting legislation is introduced.
